Before founding ELC in 1991, the founder had worked for years in remote bases for the oil industry, and one thing struck him: no matter where, the facilities looked and behaved more like carton boxes than professional work environment, and with housing accommodations in which rats felt more at home than the personnel. That's why he founded ELC: a company that would provide decent and operationable facilities for all those working in remote locations.
Soon, in the same line of thoughts, ELC started offering turnkey project management: again, building a new facility in remote areas proved to be a challenge to big for many country managers, already too busy with daily operations and often lacking sufficient project management experience.
